Severe storms that speed reaching up to 73,4 kilometers per hour, damaged roofs of buildings in Samsun city, Turkey. Because of the storm, roof of a 4 story building in Köy Hizmetleri street of Sondaj neighborhood flew off and parts of it hit neighboring buildings and fell into their gardens. Roofs of buildings also damaged after hit by flying parts. Meanwhile, roof tiles of buildings in Kooperatif Houses in 19 Mayıs neighborhood and Boyalıca neighborhood flew off due to storm. There were no casualties recorded in the incidents.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada will recognize the State of Palestine during the 80th UN General Assembly in September 2025. Citing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the need to preserve the two-state solution, Carney emphasized that peace and security for both Palestinians and Israelis require mutual recognition. He reaffirmed Canada’s support for Israel’s existence and pledged Canada’s cooperation in shaping a peace framework and delivering aid to Gaza.
