Authorities reported that the death toll on Mayotte Island, France’s overseas territory affected by Cyclone Chido in the Indian Ocean last week, has risen to 31, with more than 1,500 people injured, including 200 in serious condition. The death toll is expected to rise.
Following the disaster, French President Emmanuel Macron visited the island to inspect and 4 tons of food and medical supplies were provided to islanders in the meantime.
