The Apollo Khresterios Oracle Center in the ancient city of Aigai, western Türkiye, stands out as one of the region’s best-preserved ancient belief sites. Located in the Kocaçay Valley near natural water sources, the oracle center dates back to the Hellenistic period around 280 BC and served as a place where Apollo delivered prophecies. Archaeologists say the site’s largely intact architectural blocks give it strong restoration and tourism potential. The sanctuary is considered part of the same oracle tradition as Didyma and Klaros, highlighting the religious importance of water-linked locations in ancient Anatolia.
