The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has successfully restored the graves of Prince Osman Fuad Efendi and Adile Sultan, grandchildren of Ottoman Sultan Murad V, at the Bobigny Muslim Cemetery near Paris. To mark the completion of the 2025 renovation project, a commemorative ceremony featuring prayers and Quran recitations was attended by TİKA President Abdullah Eren alongside Selahattin Osmanoğlu, the current head of the Ottoman dynasty. Highlighting the historical significance of the royal figures, Eren noted that Prince Osman Fuad Efendi was a distinguished commander who fought alongside Mustafa Kemal in Tripoli and served as president of the Fenerbahçe Sports Club before passing away in France in 1973. To ensure the ancestral heritage was honored authentically, the restoration utilized traditional marble sourced directly from Turkey’s Marmara Island. This recent effort builds upon TİKA’s broader mission to protect historical sites, following their previous restoration of other royal Ottoman graves within the same French cemetery.
