The Ecuadorian National Assembly has awarded Türkiye’s outgoing Ambassador to Quito, the prestigious “Matilde Hidalgo de Procel” honor for her outstanding contributions to bilateral ties. Since taking office in 2022, Yalçın has championed record-breaking scholarship programs for Ecuadorian students and spearheaded the comprehensive modernization of Ecuador’s Diplomatic Academy. Her tenure also saw deepened security cooperation and the creation of the Turkey-Ecuador Business Council to actively boost cross-border trade and investment.
