Just days after US President Donald Trump concluded his trip to Beijing, Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in China for a high-profile official visit. Greeted by top diplomats and cheering children at the airport, Putin’s two-day tour coincides with the 25th anniversary of the historic Sino-Russian Treaty of Friendship. The Russian leader will hold extensive talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss pressing global issues and further deepen their strategic partnership. The highly anticipated summit is expected to culminate in a joint declaration and the signing of several new bilateral agreements. During his stay, Putin is also scheduled to meet with Chinese State Councilor Li Qiang to explore further economic and political coordination.
