A Russian couple was arrested after illegally scaling New York City’s 443-meter Empire State Building for a high-altitude marriage proposal. Daredevils Angela Nikolau and Vanya Beerkus climbed the iconic skyscraper and unfurled a banner reading, “When the power of love conquers the love of force, the world knows peace,” before Beerkus popped the question. The New York Police Department quickly cordoned off the surrounding Manhattan streets to safely manage the dangerous stunt. Authorities confirmed the thrill-seekers were taken into custody “without incident” and now face multiple charges, including trespassing, endangering public safety, and property damage.
