The 6th World Nomad Games officially opened with a spectacular ceremony at the modern Bishkek Arena in Kyrgyzstan, drawing 4,000 athletes from over 90 countries to compete in 42 traditional sports. Held under the slogan “Unity in strength, unity in spirit,” the event’s kickoff coincided with the country’s 35th independence anniversary and a major international summit. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov highlighted the presence of global leaders, including the UN Secretary-General, noting that the games proudly showcase the legacy of great nomadic civilizations. Celebrating both national heritage and contemporary progress, Japarov stated, “As the country that founded the Nomad Games, we are not only showcasing our history to the world but also demonstrating that we are a modern country moving towards the future.”
