Roads in Ayazağa covered in mud; vehicles swept away by the downpour

Heavy rainfall brought life to a standstill in the Ayazağa neighborhood of Sarıyer. While some shops were flooded, vehicles were seen being swept away by the force of the rain. The damage caused to the flooded shops during the night became apparent at daybreak.
The rainfall, which had been affecting Istanbul since yesterday morning, paralyzed daily life in Sarıyer’s Ayazağa district. As the downpour caused flooding in some shops, business owners were seen clearing out the water using their own resources. Roads in the district were blanketed in mud, and some vehicles were swept away. Vehicles and pedestrians struggled to navigate the roads, which had turned into veritable lakes. Meanwhile, the extent of the damage to the shops flooded overnight was revealed once daylight broke.
