Huge fire broke out in the forest areas in Jerusalem. In the initial reports, 2650 acres of fire were destroyed, while the highways between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were closed to traffic. The Officials stated that at least 20 firefighters, 10 firefighting planes and 2 helicopters participated in the efforts to extinguish the huge fire. The Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection advised the public to limit outdoor activities, close windows and use air conditioning.
