World’s largest boxing class held in Mexico

The world’s highest attendance boxing class took place in Mexico. 14,299 people attended the open-air boxing class in the square in the historical center of the Mexican capital city of Mexico City. World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman and 50 world champion boxers such as Andy Ruiz and Oscar Valdez took part in the boxing class. The participants, who started to gather in the morning in the historical center of Mexico City, dressed in green, white and red T-shirts and lined up in the square to symbolize the Mexican flag. The historical boxing lesson, which started with warm-up exercises accompanied by trainers after the Mexican national anthem was sung, lasted about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Mexico City Governor Claudia Scheinbaum couldn’t attend the event due to the positive Covid-19 test. With the message he published on his social media account, Scheinbaum thanked the world champion boxers and all students who participated in the event and supported them. World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman congratulated the organizers after the event and presented them with a golden belt with the Guinness Record symbol as a souvenir of the day. According to the statement made by the organization, the event is expected to receive a Guinness Record. The world record for the largest boxing class was held in Russia in 2017, with 3,000 participants.
