A total of 1,700 kilograms of drugs were seized in an operation against smugglers in Mexico. The boat was discovered off the coast of Chiapas Port during an operation conducted by security forces from the air and sea. After the chase, the teams reached the boat and seized 1,700 kilograms of cocaine in packages. While the boat and the cocaine in it were delivered to the Mexican Public Prosecutor’s Office, 8 people on the boat were arrested for drug smuggling.
Authorities stated that the market value of the seized cocaine is 487 million pesos ($24,515,000) and that the drug smugglers have been dealt a major blow.
