Türkiye’s Safranbolu attracts US, European tourists now

The historic Safranbolu district from Turkey’s Karabük province, which was deemed to enter the UNESCO World Heritage List and favored mostly by visitors from Far East before the Covid-19 pandemic is now popular among US and Europe countries. During the first 10 of this year, the visitors of the district that resembles an open-air museum with its Ottoman-era inns, bathhouses, fountains, mosques and bridges have mostly been visited by the citizens of United States, Germany, France, Poland, Russia and Kuwait.

Safranbolu Mayor Elif Köse said locals are happy with the foreigner’s interest and they expect more tourists in 2023.
