Aftermath of La Palma Volcano eruption

Municipal workers have begun cleaning volcanic ashes in Corazoncillo in Las Manchas, La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain. Ash clean-up operations initiated with the participation of 700 workers in the area after the eruption of La Palma Volcano was officially declared over on December 25, 2021, after days of no activity.

The eruptions have destroyed thousands of houses, forced most residents to evacuate the island, where the southern part of the island made up of the Cumbre Vieja, a volcanic ridge formed by numerous volcanic cones made of lava and scoria.
