Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announce during his opening speech at the Cairo Peace Summit that they agreed with US President Joe Biden on ensuring sustainable passage through the Rafah Border Gate between the Gaza Strip and Egypt for aid delivery.
“From the first moment, Egypt made intense efforts day and night to coordinate and send humanitarian aid to those under blockade in Gaza, and never closed the Rafah Border Gate. However, Israel’s repeated bombing of the Palestinian side prevented the passages. We agreed with US President Joe Biden to ensure that the crossings are ensured in a sustainable manner and the aid is delivered under full control and coordination with the United Nations, UNRWA and the Palestinian Red Crescent in these difficult field conditions,” said al-Sisi.
