Ancient Egyptian Tomb of King Thutmose II Discovered

Archaeologists have discovered the tomb of King Thutmose II in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings, marking the first royal tomb find since King Tutankhamun’s in 1922. The Egyptian-British team confirmed the tomb’s identity through inscriptions and artifacts, linking it to the 18th Dynasty ruler.

The tomb features a blue ceiling with yellow stars and religious scenes from the Amduat, a text exclusive to kings. Excavations revealed that it was deliberately emptied, possibly after being submerged by floods. The team believes another tomb, possibly holding treasures, may still be undiscovered.
