Ankara and Doha Deepen Diplomatic Ties in High-Level Meetings

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held critical meetings with Qatar’s leadership in Doha today, including Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Lusail Palace. Following talks with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the two nations held a joint press conference where they announced their mutual support for Pakistan’s mediation to halt the ongoing Iranian conflict. Both diplomats strongly warned against the weaponization of the Strait of Hormuz, stressing the importance of unhindered global navigation. Fidan also emphasized that the immediate regional tensions in the Gulf must not distract from the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
