In an overnight vote, the Knesset passed three bills that will weaken Israel’s judiciary, prompting several protesters to chain themselves with plastic pipes and iron chains outside the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem.
“If you don’t start working for the public, we won’t let you work at all,” said the protest organizers to the coalition lawmakers in a message.
Following the events, the Israeli police detained 13 of the protesters.
