Casualties increased to 49 in the massive fire caused by explosions at a private chemical container depot in Chittagong, Bangladesh. According to authorities, at least 400 people were injured and loss of life may increase.
Explosives experts from the Bangladesh army were called in to assist the firefighters, while the army took sandbag precaution to prevent the chemicals in the warehouse from flowing into the Indian Ocean. It was stated that there are approximately 4,000 containers in the warehouse, and most of the containers contain millions of dollars of textile products waiting to be exported to Western retailers.
