Participating in a skewers eating contest organized by a restaurant in Antalya, Türkiye, a 33-years-old Australian tourist, James Webb, broke the record of eating 550 skewers in just 18 minutes. Webb’s speed and unstoppable appetite shocked both the restaurant owner and his rival Ceren Yılmaz Ay, whose record is eating 315 skewers in 46 minutes. He was rewarded with 10 thousand liras and a full gold coin.
“I would say that 550 skewers were inedible, but I saw it with my own eyes. I don’t think anyone else can eat 550 skewers in 18 minutes,” said Ceren Yılmaz Ay, Webb’s rival who stopped eating after seeing him eating 200 skewers in the first 4 minutes.
