Azerbaijan and Armenia Signal Peace at Yerevan Summit

During the 8th European Political Community Summit hosted in Yerevan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed attendees via video link to celebrate nine months of historic peace with Armenia. He highlighted the significant progress made since signing a US-brokered peace agreement last August, noting the recent export of 12,000 tons of petroleum products and the transit of vital cargo to Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan echoed this optimism, emphasizing the unprecedented end to conflict casualties between the two nations while outlining new regional transport initiatives. Highlighting the remarkable shift in diplomatic relations, Pashinyan concluded his remarks by expressing his hopeful anticipation of personally visiting Azerbaijan for the upcoming 2028 summit.
