Azerbaijan sends amphibious aircraft to Turkey for forest fires

BE-200CS amphibious aircraft belonging to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan took off from Heydar Aliyev Airport to go to Turkey. In line with the instructions of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the BE-200CS amphibious aircraft with a team of 10 people departed to go to Turkish city of Muğla’s Dalaman Airport in order to help prevent the exacerbation of forest fires in Turkey and to extinguish them.

“BE-200CS amphibious aircraft belonging to the Ministry of Emergency Situations is moving to Dalaman Airport with a delegation of 10 people. There is one of this aircraft, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan. Our aircraft participated in the forest fires that occurred in Turkey last year. The aircraft takes 12 tons of water and carries it to the fire area within 18-20 seconds without stopping in the water,” Major General Ashraf Gasimov, Commander of the Airborne Division under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan said in his statement.
