Baku Marks 108th Liberation Anniversary

A solemn ceremony was held at the Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery in Azerbaijan to commemorate the 108th anniversary of Baku’s historic liberation by the Caucasian Islamic Army. Organized by the Turkish Embassy, the event gathered key diplomats and officials to lay wreaths and honor the fallen soldiers. Addressing the attendees, Turkish Ambassador Birol Akgün praised the selfless sacrifices made during difficult times for the survival of “brotherly Azerbaijan.” He emphasized that these soldiers remain the true architects of the enduring “two states, one nation” alliance. “Our brotherhood, which blossomed from your spilled blood, has been further strengthened by your cherished memories,” Akgün concluded.
