Bashar al-Assad Returns to Arab League Summit After 12-Year Absence

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to attend the 32nd Arab League Summit, marking his first participation in 12 years. The summit, which aims to address regional challenges and promote cooperation among Arab nations, welcomed Assad back after Syria’s membership was suspended due to the country’s civil war.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally greeted Assad, highlighting the significance of Syria’s reintegration into the Arab League. During the summit, Assad is expected to deliver a speech, emphasizing Syria’s renewed engagement with its regional counterparts and the end of its isolation from the union.
