A fire broke out at a lithium battery factory in Hwaseong city in South Korea at around 10.30 local time for an unknown reason, killing 20 workers and injuring 9 others.
Fire officials said the fire involved more than 35,000 batteries in the factory and that ongoing explosions were complicating extinguishing efforts.
Police detained 193 people during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Berlin, where officers intervened forcefully overnight. Authorities said those detained are under investigation for 65 offenses, including assault and use of banned symbols. Around 1,500 police were deployed at 21 protests involving both pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian groups, with reinforcements from five states. While pro-Israel rallies were permitted, Berlin police banned a planned pro-Palestinian demonstration at Alexanderplatz, prompting about 500 people to gather despite the ban.
