Bill Gates visited Pakistan for the first time

On Thursday, Co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates paid a visit to Pakistan for the first time. In the statement released by the Pakistan Prime Minister’s Office, It’s been told that Bill Gates has visited Pakistan with the special invitation of the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to the Office, Gates came together with Prime Minister Khan as part of his visit. After arriving to the capital Islamabad, Gates has received information about the “Pakistan Polio Programme”. While talking about Pakistan’s fight against “Polio”, Gates stated that thanks to the determination of the people working in this context and the cooperation of the parents, there has been no Polio in the country for a year. The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr Faisal Sultan also accompanied Gates during his visit.

Gates also visited the the Pakistan National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), meeting with Pakistan Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar and other senior health officials. In the statement made by NCOC, it’s been reported that Gates and his delegation attended the morning session where they were informed about NCOC’s role and methodology, achievements since the beginning of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the latest pandemic situation in the country and various protocols. Also, Gates congratulated Pakistan’s fight against the pandemic.
