Growing in the Gevaş district of Van province in Turkey and popularly known as the “crying bride” or “flower of sadness,” inverted tulips captivate with their beauty. Inverted tulips are an endangered species that bloom for 15 days a year and attract a lot of interest from both locals and tourists. They grow in mountains, valleys, and cemetery grounds. The new penalty for plucking inverted tulips is 244,315 Turkish liras.
