A tourist boat carrying 33 Chinese tourists and 5 crew members capsized near Phuket, Thailand, after taking on water when a cabin window burst. The incident occurred around 12:30 local time. Nearby boats quickly responded, rescuing all passengers and crew. Eight individuals sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized.
Phuket Regional Port Office Director Nachapong Pranit emphasized the role of mandatory life jackets in preventing fatalities, stating, “All passengers wore life jackets, allowing them to stay afloat until rescue.” An investigation is underway.
