Some symbolic bridges in Boston, the capital of the US state of Massachusetts, were illuminated in red and white colors to support Türkiye after the severe earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
“The symbol bridges in Boston were illuminated in the colors of our flag due to the earthquake. Thank you for this solidarity,” tweeted the Turkish Consulate General in Boston.
Hundreds of thousands of Iranians took to the streets after Friday prayers to protest Israel’s recent attacks on the country. The largest gatherings occurred in the capital, Tehran, where demonstrators marched following prayers at Tehran University.
High-ranking officials, including Iran’s Constitutional Court head Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei and former IRGC commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, joined the protest. Participants waved Iranian, Palestinian, and resistance group flags, and trampled on Israeli and US flags laid on the ground.
Protesters held banners reading “Down with Israel”, “Down with the US”, and “The Zionist regime will be destroyed”, while chanting slogans such as “We stand behind our leader”, “Everyone who clashed with Khamenei will eventually be destroyed”, and “Our right to nuclear weapons”.
