After the first earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş in Türkiye, a serious break occurred in two major fault lines between Hatay’s Hassa district and Kırıkhan district.
An asphalt road of the highway was split by 1.5 meters close to the district of Hassa, which is believed to be where the Anatolian Fault Line and the Arabian Fault Line intersect. On the hills of the Amanos Mountains, at the points on the border of the fault line, the rocks broke and fell on some villages.
During the earthquake, some cars were thrown off the road and into the ditch. Transpotation continues to be controlled and limited, with light vehicles passing over the crevices.
