British Prime Minister Johnson pays visit to Kyiv

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv for the second time. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Johnson made a joint statement after their bilateral meeting. ” Many days of this war have proved that Britain’s support for Ukraine is firm and resolute. Glad to see our country’s great friend Boris Johnson in Kyiv again,” Zelensky said in his statement.

Prime Minister Johnson, on the other hand, stated that he proposed to President Zelensky to train 10,000 soldiers in the Ukrainian army in 120 days. “As Ukrainian soldiers fire UK missiles in defence of your nation’s sovereignty, they do so also in defence of the very freedoms we take for granted. That is why I have offered President Zelensky a major new military training programme that could change the equation of this war –harnessing that most powerful of forces, the Ukrainian determination to win,” Johnson said.

In the new training program that announced, each soldier is expected to receive basic medical training, cyber security and counter-explosive tactics training, as well as 3 weeks of battle-winning skills on the front line. During the meeting, it’s learned that the leaders also discussed the UK’s role in ending Russia’s grain blockade, as well as the UK’s education offer.
