Bulgaria’s Border Police has officially deployed a new fleet of vehicles and technical equipment backed by a €10.5 million European Union investment. The major security upgrade, unveiled during a ceremony in Sofia, includes over 200 patrol and special-purpose vehicles alongside 88 manual thermal imaging cameras. Officials emphasized that fortifying the Bulgaria-Turkey borderline is absolutely critical for curbing irregular migration and securing the EU’s external boundaries. Highlighting the country’s ongoing commitment to safety, Border Police Director General Zlatanov stated that these robust technical and personnel investments have successfully transformed Bulgaria’s borders into a security model for all of Europe.
