California storm death toll reaches 17

The death toll from the severe storm and flood in California, USA, has risen to 17. According to reports, the majority of the deaths were caused by trees falling on people during the storm and vehicles becoming trapped in the flood.

Two vehicles fell into a ditch as a result of a road collapse caused by heavy rain in Los Angeles. The drivers, who were only slightly injured, were rescued and taken to the hospital by firefighters.

A woman and a 5-year-old boy are trapped in a car in the San Luis Obispo area under flood waters. The mom was rescued, but rescuers resumed searching for her son.
