The arrest of Luis Fernando Camacho, Governor of Santa Cruz the main opposition leader in Bolivia and who was charged with leading the coup in 2019, on December 28, once again caused stir in Santa Cruz. Supporters of Camacho blocked streets and set fire to vehicles and the barricades made of tires. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd, while the demonstrators responded with fireworks.
