The Liberian-flagged MSC ISTANBUL, heading for Portugal from Malaysia, ran aground in Egypt’s Suez Canal, one of the most significant transit points for global trade. The incident did not affect other ship traffic in the canal.
According to the most recent Suez Canal Authority social media post, the ship was rescued and refloated.
