Cat Helva adopted by Turkish highschool

Abdullah Tangulu Vocational School in Elazig adopted a cat from a pet shop to rehabilitate students with special needs and instill love for animals. The students named the cat “Helva,” which was brought to school after receiving all vaccinations and care. Helva spends most of its time attending classes with students. The cat, which climbs on the desks during the lessons and sometimes wanders between the tables, plays with the students in the school corridor outside the lesson.

Referring to the effect of the cat on the students, School Principal Ahmet Yıldırım said, “Children who have pets at home have more self-confidence. They socialize faster. Sensual touch is also very important in comfort,”
