A motion of confidence against French Prime Minister François Bayrou’s government was rejected in the National Assembly after securing only 131 votes, far short of the 288 needed for approval.
The motion, initiated by the Unyielding France Party (La France Insoumise), gained backing from communist and environmentalist deputies. However, the Socialist Party (Parti Socialiste) opted not to support it, deepening divisions within the left-wing New Popular Front coalition and weakening the opposition’s stance against the government.
