Cyclone Freddy hits Mozambique for the second time: 1 dead

Cyclone Freddy struck Mozambique for the second time in two weeks. Reaching land in Quelimane in Zambezia province at around 22:00 local time, the cyclone caused one person to die.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has stated that the torrential rains caused by the tropical storm have raised the water level in rivers, which could result in flooding in the states of Zambezia and Nampula. The disaster is threatening the lives of at least half a million people living in the states of Zambezia, Tete, Sofala and Nampula.

The cyclone had caused the deaths of twenty-seven people in Mozambique two weeks ago.
