Cyclone Gamane, which has been paralyzing life in 7 regions in the north of Madagascar since Wednesday, caused the deaths of 14 people. According to authorities, 6 of the victims drowned and 5 of them were trapped under their collapsed houses. The disaster affected 36,307 people in total, displacing 18,565 among them.
A total of 1,434 people died from Cyclone Freddy, which also hit Mozambique and Malawi, last year.
