Deadly Floods and Landslides Strike Northern India

Heavy rains wreak havoc in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India, triggering floods and landslides. The calamity claimed the lives of 5 individuals and led to the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway. Emergency evacuations rescued hundreds from perilous situations, although numerous livestock succumbed to the natural disaster. In response, authorities shut down schools and postponed exams at Kashmir University for safety reasons.
