The Bangladesh Directorate General of Health Services reported that the number of deaths caused by dengue fever across the country increased to 1,006. Experts stated that the death rate increased this year due to the failure to detect dengue fever in time and late hospitalization. Every day, thousands of people in the country go to hospitals due to the fever.
Associate Professor Rafiqul Islam from Bangabandhu Medical College stated that places that should be kept clean during the monsoon season or other times are not cleaned. “We have failed to control dengue due to apathy,” said Rafiqul.
