The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the California wildfires has risen to at least 16.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, who announced that 13 people were recorded as missing, said that they were trying to confirm whether the losses were related to the fires.
The Palisades fire, which reduced an area of 22,660 acres to ashes, was reportedly brought under control by 11 percent, while the Eaton fire, which spread to an area of 14,100 acres, was brought under control by 15 percent.
Authorities announced that at least 153,000 people were under evacuation warnings and stated that at least 12 thousand structures were rendered unusable due to the fires.
