Death Toll in Los Angeles Wildfires Rises to 25

According to the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office in the US, the total number of deaths in the California wildfires that have been going on for 8 days has risen to 25, 9 of which are in the Pacific Palisades and 16 of which are north of Pasadena.

The fire in the Pacific Palisades, which rendered unusable approximately 5,000 structures and reduced to ashes 23,713 acres of land, has reportedly been brought under control by 18 percent so far. Meanwhile, approximately 7,000 structures were reduced to ashes or damaged in the Eaton fire that broke out north of Pasadena. The fire spread to an area of 14,117 acres, and 35 percent of it was brought under control, say authorities.

In response to the criticisms that the California administration was inadequate in the fire, the 26th district senator in the California State Senate, Ben Allen, said that they had systematic flaws, such as the electrical grids that were built above ground.”
