Defense Officials Convene in Istanbul for Mecca Pact

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and Chief of General Staff Gen. Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu have gathered in Istanbul with key officials from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The high-level delegation held significant preliminary discussions ahead of the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee. This newly formed committee operates directly under the framework of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement. Following these initial diplomatic talks, the committee’s first official proceedings have now formally begun in the city.
