Dengue fever in Bangladesh claims 909 lives; hospitalizations surge

The dengue fever outbreak in Bangladesh has killed 909 people, and the situation is worsening. According to the latest report from the Bangladesh Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the nationwide death toll has reached 909, with 16 new fatalities reported in a single day. Furthermore, 3,008 individuals were admitted to hospitals for dengue fever treatment on the same day.

The DGHS has highlighted a concerning trend of daily hospitalizations ranging from 2,600 to 2,800 patients due to dengue fever, leading to a critical shortage of hospital beds and medical equipment. Currently, a total of 10,470 dengue fever patients are undergoing treatment across the country, reflecting the severity of the outbreak.
