Draft Resolution for Ceasefire in Palestine Vetoed by US

The draft resolution calling for an urgent humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza was put to vote in the United Nations (UN) Security Council. The bill, supported by more than 80 countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Türkiye, was not accepted due to the negative vote of the USA, the permanent member of the council. US officials stated that they were disappointed to see that the resolution did not condemn Hamas for their attacks on October 7.
