The 4.8-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Erbil, Iraq, on Wednesday evening jolted the neighboring Turkish province of Hakkari as well, causing damage in many houses in Yeşiltaş village

“A big earthquake occurred last night and it was felt very much in our village. It was very scary. We heard sounds from underground. We couldn’t even get inside our house and we spent the night in a tent. We are waiting for urgent help from the authorities,” said a local.
