Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Cairo, expressed strong opposition to any efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands, specifically denouncing Israel’s actions like cutting off water and electricity as coercive measures. He offered condolences for lives lost in Israel’s Gaza hospital attack, condemned military actions against civilians, called for international intervention, and warned of escalating security and humanitarian crises if the conflict continued.

Andriy Portnov, former aide to ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, was shot dead in Madrid’s upscale Pozuelo de Alarcon district. Spanish authorities say unidentified gunmen opened fire as the 52-year-old was dropping off his children at school, striking him in the back and head before fleeing.
Portnov, a former MP and lawyer, fled Ukraine with Yanukovych in 2014, briefly returned in 2019, and was later sanctioned by the U.S. for alleged judicial corruption.
