The European Union (EU) held the 6th Conference in support to Syrian people in Belgian capital city of Brussels. 1.56 billion Euros of donation was collected for the Syrians who left their country, within the scope of the conference. High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell made a speech at the aid conference attended by representatives of 70 countries of the world and international organizations.

“This builds on the pledge made at last year’s Conference of 560 million Euros for this year and adding an extra one billion to it.  And we are pledging the same total amount 1.56 billion Euros for 2023. Although this year’s conference takes place against the backdrop of the war against Ukraine, we will not forget the Syrian people” Borrell said in his statement.
