EU’s Borrel Criticizes Israeli Minister’s Presentation at Meeting

European Union (EU) Foreign Ministers convened in Brussels to discuss Middle East and Ukraine affairs. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz presented videos during the meeting, including a railway project and an “artificial island” proposal off the coast of Gaza in the Mediterranean. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell expressed criticism, stating that the videos were unrelated to the agenda. Borrell suggested that Katz could have utilized the meeting to address concerns about his country or the Gaza situation. Despite ministers emphasizing the possibility of a lasting peace with the establishment of a Palestinian state, Katz’s stance remained unchanged, according to Borrell.
